What is Munch & Move?

Munch & Move is a NSW Health initiative designed to support the healthy development of children from birth to five years old. This evidence-based program is available to all early childhood education and care services (ECECs) in NSW, including family day care. It promotes physical activity, healthy eating, and reduced screen time through fun, play-based learning experiences. The program provides services with free resources, training, and support to help children establish healthy habits that can last a lifetime.

Why is Munch & Move Important?

Early childhood is a critical period for developing healthy habits. Children who engage in regular physical activity, consume a balanced diet, and limit screen time are more likely to maintain these behaviors as they grow. Munch & Move helps ECECs create environments that encourage these practices, aligning with national guidelines and quality standards. By embedding these healthy habits into daily routines, the program supports children's physical and cognitive development, setting the foundation for lifelong health and well-being.
