Excursions & Incursions
At our Centre, learning doesn’t just happen within four walls. We love taking children out into the community and bringing the community to us. Excursions and incursions are a wonderful way to spark curiosity, deepen connections, and make learning hands-on and memorable.
Learning beyond the classroom
Our excursions are carefully planned to link with our curriculum and the children’s emerging interests. Whether it’s a trip to the local library, a nature walk in the park, or exploring a museum, these experiences allow children to see, touch, and explore the world around them. They build confidence, social skills, and a sense of belonging in their community.
Bringing the world to us
Incursions invite experts, performers, and community helpers into our Centre to share their knowledge and passion. Alongside visiting artists, educators and community services, we also welcome families to share their own skills, whether it’s reading a story, talking about a profession, or showing children how technology and science come to life.
Safety first, always
Your child’s wellbeing is our top priority. Every excursion and incursion is supported by detailed planning, risk assessments, and clear communication with families. Parents are always informed ahead of time, and families are welcome to join us as volunteers on excursions after obtaining their Working With Children Check (WWCC).
Local highlights
Some of our past adventures have included visits to Sydney Aquarium, Centennial Park, bush kindy sessions, local parks, and Coogee Beach. Excursions are conducted across all age groups, giving every child the chance to experience the wider world in ways that are fun, safe, and meaningful.
A shared journey
Excursions and incursions aren’t just add-ons – they’re an important part of how we bring the curriculum to life. By stepping out into the wider world or inviting it in, we create rich opportunities for children to learn, grow, and thrive together.
